Does anyone have any ideas for what I could put over rice? My son is allergic to wheat, milk, soy, peanuts, and eggs. He loves rice, but since I can’t put any butter on it(all butter is either milk or soy) he really doesn’t have any flavor for it. I usually make pork chops or spaghetti and we eat it over rice since he can’t have noodles, but he is getting tired of the same thing. I really want to find something to mix in with the rice so it has some flavor… Any ideas will help!! Thanks |

Stir-fry without soy sauce? Maybe make or find a sweet and sour sauce to use with the stir-fry? There is a brown rice pasta, Tinkyada Pasta http://www.tinkyada.com/ , that is a really good sub for wheat pasta. We were wheat free for a while and used this pasta. Although the ingredients are just brown rice and water it has a similar taste and texture to wheat pasta. My kids like a little oil and sugar mixed in with warm rice. More of a dessert but something different. That’s all I can think of right now. I’ll post later if I think of something else. |

Thank you puddlejump!! I will try out the stir fry idea tonight. As for the pasta, thanks for the website! My son will be so pleased to eat dinner “just like mom and dad’s”. He usually has to substitute something, for instance his noodles for rice, whenever I make a big meal. Savanna :-) |

shadler26—using chicken broth in place of water, as puddlejump suggested, is a yummy way to cook brown rice! If you do not have any broth on hand, you can also try using plain water, but adding 1/8 tsp. salt + 1/8 tsp. garlic/onion powder per serving to the water prior to cooking. Then after the rice is cooked, mix in 1 tsp. olive oil per serving. Also, if you cannot find wheat-free spaghetti/pasta, you may want to check the Asian section of your local grocery store. They usually have Thai rice noodles of different sizes, which work great for dishes like stroganoff, chicken-noodle soup, etc. |

Drizzle extra virgin olive oil, mixed with a little garlic powder and salt. |
