I have a 2yr old boy who is allergic to milk, eggs, and whey. I am on here to find recipes that do not contain any of these items. If you have any suggestions, please help me!!

Do you know if your son is also allergic to goats milk? My son is allergic to cow’s milk, but is not allergic to goat’s milk.
You could also try rice milk, one of the nut milks, soy milk, in place of milk in recipes. Make sure you read all ingredients lists and make sure you know the terminology.
Whey is a real problem. It is in so many things. I did find a soybean margarine that appears not to have whey in it. It’s called Willow Run from Shedd’s.
Eggs, I cannot help you with that one. Go to a health food store and see if they have something as a egg substitute that is diary-free. Again, read ingredients cause many egg substitutes have some kind of milk in them. You can also google “egg substitutes” and come up with some ideas.
As to recipes…once you find products to substitute for milk, eggs, whey, then you can use normal recipes.
I know what you are going through. It’s terribly hard to cook with different ingredients that you aren’t used to using. I spend hours in a grocery store reading ingredient lists.

I’m fairly new to the substitution game, but for eggs I have found the garbanzo beans to be almost better than eggs for any bread or main dish item, and the banana for any sweet recipe. Both were surprisingly successful for my picky kids—- and husband!

We just learned our son, 4yrs. to have the same allergies as your child. Plus some extras. I agree with AllieK about trying other milks. My son enjoys rice milk, vanilla enriched. Careful to read ingredients though, because some brands use shared equipment with other allergen foods. The vanilla gives it that creamy taste, but it is watery like skim. I substitute in for all recipes. Also find out from your allergist dr. about egg. I am still able to give my son egg if it is in a recipe that bakes in the oven longer than 30 mins…it denatures it. So he can still have a meatloaf. Make sure to ask the dr. though, your child may have a more severe allergy.

I’ve changed the category to “Looking for Recipe”. The new allergy requests forum is intended to request for site administrators to add new allergens to the website. Thanks
