My husband is allergic to onions, all forms, and garlic, tomatoes, fish, nuts, gluten, wheat, corn, rye, and soy. I have several recipes I’ve collected for soups that have leeks in them- any ideas for a substitution?

On other sites, I’ve seen suggestions to use celery for texture (but gives a different taste), daikon or asafoetida powder (small amount since its pretty powerful).
