1 tsp Allergy_none baking soda
2-1/2 cups Allergy_none oats
12 oz package Allergy_none semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup (2 sticks) Allergy_none butter or Allergy_none margarine , softened
1-1/4 cups Allergy_none brown sugar , firmly packed
1/2 cup Allergy_none granulated sugar
2 Allergy_none eggs
2 tbsp Allergy_none milk
2 tsp Allergy_none vanilla

Instructions: Heat oven to 375F. Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well Stir in oats, chocolate morsels (and 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts if desired); mix well. Drop by round tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store in tightly covered container.
