1-1/2 cups Allergy_none semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup Allergy_none shortening
1/2 cup Allergy_none butter
1 cup Allergy_none brown sugar , firmly packed
1/2 cup Allergy_none granulated sugar
1/2 tsp Allergy_none baking soda
1 cup Allergy_none pecans or Allergy_none walnuts , chopped
1/2 tsp Allergy_none salt

Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

In a bowl, beat shortening and butter on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt; beat until combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.

Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. With a wooden spoon, stir in remaining flour. Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes.

Cool on wire rack.
