Recipe Servings: 6 dozen Description: Traditional Czech pastry which can be filled with a variety of fillings to your suit your needs. Allergens: Animal, Bakers yeast, Beet, Corn, Cow milk, Dairy, Egg, Fermented, Fructose, Fruit/vegetable, Gluten, Grain, Sugar, Sugar cane, Wheat, Yeast Ingredient List:

Instructions: 1. Pour warm milk over the yeast and let it dissolve.
2. Add sugar, shortening, salt, eggs, egg yolks, and flour. Stir until well combined.
3. Remove dough and place in a well oiled bowl. Turn once to coat the surface. Cover, and place in a warm spot. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
4. Dish out dough with a tablespoon, and roll into balls. Brush each with shortening, and let rise until doubled in bulk.
5. Flatten the balls, and make a depression in the center of each. Fill with fruit preserves. Allow to rise.
6. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
