Topic: Looking for Recipe / Allergy to Whey

We just learned our son, 4yrs. to have the same allergies as your child. Plus some extras. I agree with AllieK about trying other milks. My son enjoys rice milk, vanilla enriched. Careful to read ingredients though, because some brands use shared equipment with other allergen foods. The vanilla gives it that creamy taste, but it is watery like skim. I substitute in for all recipes. Also find out from your allergist dr. about egg. I am still able to give my son egg if it is in a recipe that bakes in the oven longer than 30 mins…it denatures it. So he can still have a meatloaf. Make sure to ask the dr. though, your child may have a more severe allergy.
