Topic: New Allergy Requests / sulfite allergy I have a sulfite allergy that isn’t included on the allergy list. Sulfites occur naturally in some foods and are added in others. Sulfites are used as a preservative, a bleaching agent (flour, rice, sugar), a drying agent (dried fruit), as a “dough conditioner”, and as a retardant of mold. It can be quite tricky trying to find things that do not have sulfites as it is often a “hidden ingredient”. Having additional information would be very helpful. |
